The moisture-absorbing white keys have a synthetic ivory top layer for maximum grip while the synthetic ebony of the black keys prevents slipping. The core of the keys is solid wood that has been carefully selected and carefully dried. This texture and structure provides even more grand piano experience.

Each individual key on the CVP-909 has a different weight, just like on acoustic instruments. This is because the strings of each note differ in thickness and length so the weights in the keys should differ. Counterweights in each key are also included as counterweights for the hammers to provide even more precise control during subtle playing at low volumes.
