Yamaha
Yamaha was founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha in Japan when he made his first acoustic organ. Yamaha was very passionate and quickly after started making pianos, which made him the first person in Japan to make pianos. Progression and innovation are clearly present in his production process. Throughout the last 150 years the company has expanded and produces many different types of instruments and they continue to improve and expand their production. The innovation Torakusu Yamaha had is still present in Yamaha’s instruments.
An acoustic experience
Do you want to experience the feeling of a real acoustic drum set? And/or produce the sound of an acoustic drum set? The DTX8K-M is the choice for you! All of the sounds in the drum module have been recorded by professional drummers in several world famous studios. Consequently, you can choose between several different drum sets and ambiances. You can even change the presets between songs so the sound of your drums will fit perfectly with every individual song. You can also alter and personalise the sounds with the Kit Modifier knobs: Ambience, Comp, and Effect. Furthermore, the set also looks beautifully authentic. The shells are made of real wood and look very luxurious.
The digital advantages
An acoustic drum kit often sounds better, but the advantages of a digital set aren’t to be ignored. Firstly, you can play rather quietly. An acoustic set will unavoidably make loads of noise and can cause noise disturbances. A digital set has a volume control and can even be played with headphones. This is also better for your own hearing, as playing an acoustic drum kit without ear protection will inevitably cause hearing damage. However, keep in mind that a digital drum kit will still produce some noise, as you are hammering with a wooden stick on a physical object. Fortunately, Yamaha has made sure that the stand is sturdy and has rubber feet so the sound won’t drone through the walls and floor and the pads are made of Remo double layered mesh heads which are optimal for noise reduction. Additionally, the pads are also very nice to play as they have great rebound and feel very authentic. The snare, the toms, and the hihat all have two sensor zones and the cymbals have three, which will produce a nicer, more nuanced, and more authentic sound.
Keep in mind: the bass drum pedal is not included.
