Eastman AC122-2CE - Auditorium

Eastman

Eastman was founded in 1992 by Qian Ni, a Chinese musician who had moved to America. He realised there were few professional instruments available at the time, which is why he decided to start his own company. Quality is still Eastman’s priority. Every instrument is made by hand and goes through an extensive process to ensure that the instruments will stand the test of time and can be used quite intensively.

The AC122-2CE

The AC122-2CE is an auditorium guitar. Auditorium guitars are predominantly popular due to their compact body without losing out on sound. Furthermore, the AC122-2CE has a cutaway, which means it’s easier to reach the higher frets. The top of the body is made of solid cedar. Solid tops are, compared to laminated tops, a lot better when it comes to sound. The sound will not only be more powerful, but the sound will have more warmth and sound more authentic. Cedar is a popular choice as it produces a warm sound. The back and sides are made of solid sapele, which produces a bright and resonant sound.

Eastman AC522CE - Natural

The AC522CE

The AC522CE is a high-quality Auditorium guitar. Auditorium guitars are very versatile; they’re a little smaller than the popular Dreadnought and a little bigger than the Grand Concert. Although Dreadnoughts are ideal rhythm guitars whilst Grand Concerts are better for fingerpicking, the Auditorium is ideal for both. This is because the body is deep enough to produce beautiful deep tones, but it can still define and balance the individual notes. Consequently, Auditoriums are very versatile and popular. The AC522CE moreover has a cut-out, which makes reaching higher frets a lot easier. The top of the body is made of solid spruce. Spruce is an amazing tonewood for acoustic guitars as it produces a bright and warm sound with great sustain. The guitar has solid mahogany back and sides, which produces a warm and powerful sound. The guitar has a mahogany neck and an ebony fretboard. These are high-quality tonewoods that look beautiful and feel very comfortable. A hardshell case is included with the guitar.

Eastman AR403CED Archtop

Archtop Guitars

The AR403CED is a stunning professional archtop guitar from Eastman. An archtop guitar means exactly that; the body has a slight curve to it, instead of being completely flat like most guitars. Another aspect of an archtop guitar is that there are two F-holes at either side of the bridge. This construction was inspired by violins and produces an amazing sound. The two symmetrical F-holes make it easier for the sound to vibrate and to project. With F-holes, an arched construction is necessary, as the soundwaves will not properly move without a round edge. This also means that archtop guitars are hollow, otherwise the archtop construction will have no effect. The archtop construction is quite popular because the added resonance and projection produces a beautiful, airy, and full sound. Whereas solid body guitars predominantly produce sound with the vibration of the strings over the pickups, with a little added resonance on the top of the body, hollow body guitars have more resonance and will thus also sound less ‘flat.’

Materials

The AR403CED is also made of amazing materials. The guitar has a three piece maple neck, which makes the neck quite sturdy and comfortable to play. The neck also has a traditional C-profile, which is generally considered to be the most comfortable and efficient neck shape. The body is entirely made of laminated maple, which means the guitar not only looks beautiful but is very rigid and has a loud projection. The guitar has two Kent Armstrong HPAG-1 humbuckers. These humbuckers are inspired by the famous 1957 humbuckers and are made of the exact same materials. The humbuckers thus sound fantastic and authentic, especially with the archtop construction.

Eastman DM3 Grande Bouche

Eastman DM3 Natural Gypsy Guitar

The Eastman DM3 Natural Gypsy Guitar is inspired by the classic Selmer Grand Bouche design and blends traditional construction with modern precision. Its solid Sitka spruce top and laminated rosewood deliver a sharp attack and excellent definition, while the maple neck with a flat-D profile feels both stable and comfortable. The open-pore Truetone satin finish allows the wood to resonate freely and gives the guitar its natural, authentic appearance. With its traditional moustache bridge, this instrument plays and sounds exactly like a true gypsy guitar should.

Tone & Playability

The 670 mm scale length, Jescar fretwork, and zero fret create a fast response and the unmistakable gypsy jazz character. This guitar is ideal for both pompe rhythms and virtuosic solos, and thanks to its low action it feels light, lively, and effortless to play. The slotted headstock and traditional tailpiece complete the vintage-inspired aesthetic.

About Eastman

Eastman is an American company founded by Qian Ni, originally from China. When he arrived in the United States in the 1990s, he was dissatisfied with the quality standards of stringed instruments at the time. This pushed him to start developing his own instruments. Quality has been Eastman’s highest priority from the very beginning — and it shows. Every instrument goes through an extensive production and inspection process, ensuring consistent excellence across all models. Each guitar is hand-assembled by skilled luthiers, guaranteeing craftsmanship you can both hear and feel.

Thermo Cured

Eastman has developed thermo cured guitars. This means that the top of the body has been stored at really high temperatures so unnecessary coatings can be removed and the wood has already aged when it is installed on the guitar. This may not seem great, because why would anyone want to buy an old guitar? It’s actually quite simple; aged guitars have a larger range of tones and will sound a lot fuller and rich. Furthermore, thermo cured wood is better able to withstand temperature changes and humidity, which means it’s more reliable than a regular guitar.

Materials

The E10D-TC is also made from the best materials. The top of the guitar is made of solid spruce. This produces a warm sound. The guitar has solid mahogany back and sides, which produces a beautiful resonant and bright sound. The neck is made of mahogany and has an ebony fretboard. The solid mahogany back and sides add warmth, balance and round, full low end, resulting in a sound that is both focused and dynamic.

The hand-carved scalloped X-bracing allows the guitar to breathe freely, enhancing nuance and projection. The mahogany neck features a comfortable Traditional Even “C” profile, paired with a 12" ebony fingerboard and Jescar fretwork for smooth, precise playability. The Antique Varnish finish not only gives the instrument a beautifully aged appearance but also increases resonance thanks to its thin, flexible varnish layer.

The hardware is tastefully executed in an antique nickel colour, with open-gear Pingwell tuners and an ebony bridge with a bone saddle. This combination ensures stable tuning, a reliable string response and a true vintage aesthetic that enhances the character of this slope-shoulder design.

Playability & applications

The E15SS/V feels compact, immediate and highly responsive. Its shorter 24.75" scale length makes bends easier and chords more comfortable, while the combination of Adirondack spruce and mahogany results in exceptional versatility for blues, roots, folk and singer-songwriter styles. Whether you play gentle fingerpicking or strong strumming, the guitar stays warm, clear and dynamic. Combined with one of our acoustic amplifiers, the E15SS/V shines in live environments as well.
