Yamaha F310II - Dreadnought

The Yamaha F310II offers a beautiful sound for an awesome price. Do you want to start learning to play the western guitar, but don’t have a high budget? The F310II might be the solution for you! This guitar is also the improved version of the Yamaha F310, but is still very affordable. Yamaha has been known to make beautiful guitars for both beginners and professionals for decades. This experience and skill is clearly presented with the F310II. The guitar has got a spruce top and nato back and sides. This combination results in a warm and balanced sound that exceeds most other starter guitars. Furthermore, the guitar has got a rosewood fretboard. This is amazing, because rosewood is considered to be one of the best tonewoods for fretboards. Rosewood is relatively expensive though, and isn’t often found on more affordable guitars. This makes the F310II quite special.

Taylor BT1

Taylor

Taylor is an American company that was founded in 1974 when two boys bought an old hippie guitar shop. The boys were very passionate about guitars and put a lot of energy into the shop. Eventually, the shop evolved into an international company. All Taylor guitars today are made in either El Cajon in California or Tecate in Mexico. Taylor is very proud of this, because guitars that are produced close to headquarters go through a more thorough quality control process and employee satisfaction is better regulated. Taylor prioritises tone and comfort. All guitars are perfected and with modern luthier techniques the guitars can be made with more precision and consistency.

The Baby Taylor Series

The Baby Taylor series contains guitars that are a quarter smaller than the standard guitar. The guitars are thus ideal for younger players but also for the travelling musician. All guitars in the series have solid tops and comfortable necks.

The BT1

The BT1 is a great guitar. The body has a solid spruce top and laminated walnut back and sides. This will result in a warm and deep sound. The guitar has a maple neck and an ebony fretboard. The guitar has a baby Dreadnought body. This is the most popular guitar shape on the market. The rectangle-esque shape of the body makes the resonance deeper and makes the guitar ideal for rhythm guitar. Furthermore, the shape gives the guitar a nicely balanced sound.

Yamaha TAG3 C TransAcoustic Western Guitar - Natural

TransAcoustic

The FG-TA is a TransAcoustic guitar, as Yamaha calls it. This means that the acoustic sound of the guitar can be altered. This doesn’t mean the guitar can’t be amplified, it simply means the sound can be altered without amplification. This system that was designed by Yamaha consists of an actuator at the bottom of the inside of the back. This actuator catches the vibrations of the strings, these vibrations will be altered and sent to the top of the body. The natural wood will catch the altered vibrations and produce the sound. This way you can change the acoustic sound of the guitar. There are of course limits to this system: the guitar cannot add distortion or overdrive, but only more natural effects, like reverb, delay, and chorus. These are the most wanted effects for western guitars anyway. At the side of the guitar there are four subtle knobs with which to change the effects: a chorus knob, a reverb knob, a delay knob, and a volume knob for when the guitar is amplified. The effects also work when the guitar is amplified. Because the system also works without an amplifier, it relies on batteries. These are located right next to the output so it’s easy to change and the location doesn’t alter the natural resonance.

Martin D-18 Golden Era

The Standard Series

They’re the backbone of Martin; distinguished instruments that created the template for the American acoustic flattop guitar. Standard Series models embody nearly two centuries of craftsmanship and technique—history made from wood and wire. These legendary guitars and the artists who played them helped establish country, folk, bluegrass, and rock. Today, you’ll hear their ringing tone echoing across the American soundscape and in music around the world. The models that have been released from 2025 forwards also have a satin Golden Era Modified Low Oval neck. This means that the neck is nice and thin and will thus lie comfortably in your hand.

The D-18

The D-18 is a Dreadnought guitar. Dreadnoughts are very popular because they’re very versatile and produce a full and rich sound. They are the ideal rhythm guitars, although fingerpicking still sounds amazing on a dreadnought. Furthermore, Martin is the place to go for a dreadnought, considering they invented the guitar and are still one of the best when it comes to the production of these guitars. The D-18 has a spruce top. Spruce has a beautiful resonance and produces a warm sound. The back and sides are made of mahogany. Mahogany has a beautiful dark colour and produces a warm and powerful sound. The guitar has a ‘select hardwood’ neck. This means the neck is either made of cedar or mahogany, depending on which of the two Martin can obtain without having to participate in deforestation. Both tonewoods are great choices for a neck and the difference between the two is minimal. The guitar also has an ebony fretboard, which will provide a smooth playing surface.

Martin

Martin is a reputable American company which has been making guitars for almost 200 years. Throughout the years they have become one of the best when it comes to western guitars. This is because quality is their biggest priority. Consequently, Martin guitars are very popular. There are even many famous guitarists who use Martin guitars, like Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, and David Gilmour. Furthermore, their production process is environmentally friendly. Since the ‘90s they have worked together with the FSC to prevent deforestation. They only use wood from trees that have to be cut down to keep the forest healthy. The other parts of the guitar are recycled, as well. By purchasing a Martin guitar you are thus not only investing in quality, but also the environment.

Taylor 314ce Next Generation

The Next Generation Guitars

The Taylor 314ce Next Generation is, as the name suggests, part of the Next Generation series. Taylor is known for their high-quality guitars, and the Next Generation series only improves upon that! These guitars contain Taylor’s new Long-Tenon Action Control necks, which improve contact between the neck and the body. This makes the neck sturdier and adds more warmth and depth to the sound of the guitar. With the Action Control function, it’s also easier to adjust the action of the guitar. All guitars are also semi-acoustic, which means they come with a preamp. The guitars all have Taylor’s new Claria System, which makes sure that the amplified sound is consistent, neutral, and authentic.

The 300 Series

The 300 series contains versatile guitars. There are two options within the series: guitars made of sapele and spruce and guitars made of blackwood and mahogany. Furthermore, the series has a large selection of guitar shapes and also 12-string and classical guitars. This makes the series very utilitarian.

The 314ce Next Generation

The Taylor 314ce Next Generation is a great guitar. The body has a solid spruce top and sapele back and sides. This produces a warm and powerful sound. Moreover, the guitar has a Grand Auditorium body, which was designed by Taylor in 1994 and is their most popular model. The Grand Auditorium is a bit smaller than the Dreadnought and a bit bigger than the Grand Concert. This also makes it more versatile, as the Dreadnought was designed for rhythm guitar and the Grand Concert for fingerpicking. The Grand Auditorium is a combination of both. The guitar has Claria System electronics so the amplified sound will sound authentic.

Martin 000JR-10E - Shawn Mendes Signature

The other parts of the guitar are recycled, as well. By purchasing a Martin guitar you are thus not only investing in quality, but also the environment.

The Junior Series

Junior guitars are slightly smaller 000 or Dreadnought bodies that still sound the same in tone or volume. Junior Series models are built for comfort and playability, making them ideal for your first guitar. But they’re also big on traditional Martin features like solid wood construction and ¼-inch scalloped X-bracing. They deliver all the tone you’d expect from a larger Martin guitar while ensuring you’ll never outgrow them. They have a high-performance tapered neck, pleked frets, and a contoured back edge.

Shawn Mendes Signature

The 000JR-10E is a Shawn Mendes edition. Shawn Mendes is a Canadian pop musician who plays guitar while singing. As such, Martin decided to produce a guitar together. There are little details in the guitar that truly make it a Shawn Mendes guitar, such as the inlays in the fretboard, including his signature, the swallows on the bridge, modelled after a tattoo on his hand, and his song lyrics etched into the body. The guitar contains Fishman electronics, which is considered to be one of the best semi-acoustic systems on the market. The back and sides of the guitar are made of sapele and it has a spruce top. This is a great combination, as sapele sound clear and articulated whereas spruce sounds warm and full.

Martin SC-10E Modern Sapele

The Road Series Modern

The Martin SC-10E Modern Sapele is part of the Road Series. Martin developed the Road Series to bring the ultimate stage and studio guitars to the market. They mainly looked at professional guitarists, and what they find important on stage and in the studio. They have combined these points to produce the perfect stage and studio guitars, so that as a professional guitarist you only need to purchase one good guitar. For this, one of the most important points was the built-in electronics. A western guitar that sounds good acoustically does not mean that the guitar sounds good amplified. Martin used the Martin E1 for this. This is high-quality technology that translates the sound of the guitar to the amplifier as authentically as possible. In addition, this electronics has a tuner that turns off the output when switched on. Consequently, you can tune your guitar without the sound being amplified. In addition, Martin has ensured that the electronics are hidden in the guitar, so that the guitar still looks beautiful. The Modern aspect of the series is in the details, with chrome tuners, rounded edges on the fretboard, and faux abalone rosettes. Some models even have a torrified top, adding a beautifully played-in sound. Another important point is that the prices of the guitars do not reflect the quality. Such high-quality guitars usually come with a price tag that is double the price Martin gave them. This makes these guitars not only the ultimate for professional guitarists, but also very suitable for up-and-coming guitarists. The guitars come in all shapes, types, colours and materials and are supplied with a cover.

This Martin SC-10E Modern Sapele comes with the acoustic guitar service package worth €75.00, consisting of:

  • Adjustment before delivery/shipping
  • An adjustment voucher
  • Pick holder
  • Official Joh.deHeer warranty certificate

The SC-10E Modern Sapele

The SC-10E is a unique guitar from Martin. With the development of the SC guitars Martin mostly looked at the versatility and comfort of electric guitars. The body has a deep cut-out, which makes the neck a lot easier to play and you can easily reach the highest frets. Furthermore, the neck was specifically developed to make it as ergonomic as that of an electric guitar and makes it easier to go up and down the neck. The SC guitars were also specifically designed to be the ultimate semi-acoustic guitars. The asymmetric body makes sure there will be less feedback and the sound will be fuller and more authentic while amplified. Consequently, the guitar can be used as an electric guitar and will even sound beautiful with a distortion effect. Although it was designed for amplified use, it still sounds beautiful acoustically, making it the ultimate versatile guitar. It’s thus the ideal guitar for electric guitarists who want to play an acoustic guitar, and vice versa. The top, back, and sides are made of sapele. Sapele has a beautiful dark colour and produces a bright and powerful sound.
