Hammond XK-7
The Hammond XK-7 combines modern technology with the familiar Hammond feel that has inspired generations of musicians. The updated Virtual Electro-Mechanical (VEM) engine not only models the tonewheels themselves, but also the beloved imperfections of vintage models such as leakage, crosstalk and key-click. All of these elements are fully adjustable, allowing you to tailor the instrument precisely to your personal preferences. The new 6L manual, featuring longer keys and six physical contacts per key, provides a realistic touch that comes remarkably close to that of classic Hammond keyboards.
New generation of Hammond sound and playing comfort
In addition to its iconic tonewheel sound, the XK-7 offers an extensive collection of transistor organs and a large library of 40 pipe-organ ranks, including theatre-organ varieties. The modelled AO-28/AO-29 preamp adds warmth, colour and character, and can be driven subtly or more aggressively depending on your playing.
The digital Leslie has been significantly improved and now offers nine variants, including a PR-40 stationary cabinet model. For players who want to emphasise the low end, there is a dedicated Bass Out socket — ideal for an external amplifier or subwoofer. The colour display and intuitive control layout make it easy to adjust settings on the fly. The built-in DSP effects, such as delay, reverb and the various wah options, give you even more freedom to shape the sound to your own taste.
