Humidity

For the technical condition of a piano or grand piano, it is essential that your instrument is placed in good conditions. Too low humidity or rising heat from floor heating can cause cracks and tears in the comb, soundboard and tuning block. As a result, your piano will no longer be tunable, thus losing its sound and value. Repairing this is very costly and therefore it is important to monitor humidity with a hygrometer. For a piano, it should be between 40 and 60%.
