The Kala KA-PX-BCT-C Concert ukulele is a high-quality instrument. It is made from bocote wood, a reddish-brown tonewood with dark streaks and distinctive grain patterns. This ukulele features rosewood bindings, black tuning machines and a gloss finish that completes the overall look. Please note that the grain pattern may differ from the ukulele shown in the product photo, as it depends on the natural structure of the wood, making every ukulele unique. Ukuleles come in different sizes: soprano, concert, tenor and baritone. Soprano is the smallest of the four and also the traditional size of the ukulele. One downside of the baritone is that it can feel uncomfortable if you have large fingers. That is why the concert ukulele exists: it is slightly larger than the traditional soprano, making it easier to play for people with larger fingers. Because of its larger body, it also has a slightly different sound. Then there is the tenor, which is much larger than both the concert and soprano models and therefore is not really considered part of the traditional ukulele family. Its large body gives it a much fuller sound, but it no longer sounds like a traditional ukulele, which is why many professional players do not choose a tenor. Finally, after the tenor comes the baritone, the largest ukulele, which produces the fullest and warmest sound.
