The Nord Stage 2EX 88 is a leading stage piano offering the very best that Nord has to offer. It features a solid core system divided into four distinct sections, including premium organ sounds derived from Nord’s flagship organ, the Nord C2. This piano is the largest model in the then newly introduced Nord Stage 2 EX series.

 

The Nord Stage 2EX 88 is highly versatile yet remains intuitive to operate. It features Nord’s finest keyboard, with 88 fully weighted keys that are ideal for piano playing, while also being well suited for organ performance. The clearly structured sections allow for effortless switching between piano, organ and synthesiser sounds. These three sound engines can be used simultaneously and even layered in dual configurations, offering extensive creative possibilities. The piano provides 400 memory locations, organised into four banks, each with 20 pages and five locations per page.

 

The piano section offers 1GB of memory for piano sounds. It includes six different piano categories, each containing nine distinct models. This ranges from the sound of a lively acoustic grand piano to classic vintage electric pianos. Thanks to advanced sampling techniques, the instrument captures exceptional nuance and the authentic character of each piano. Combined with Advanced String Resonance technology, which recreates the natural resonance of the strings, the result is an impressively realistic and expressive performance.

 

The Stage 2EX includes a powerful synthesiser engine capable of delivering a wide range of high-quality sounds. It is compatible with the Nord Sample Library, a free collection of world-class sounds, including renowned samples such as the Vintage Mellotron and Chamberlin. With the Nord Sample Editor, users can easily edit and load samples into the keyboard. The synthesiser section also features an arpeggiator that can be synchronised with the Master Clock, ensuring precise timing with other elements of the Nord Stage, including the effects.

 

The organ section is based on Nord’s third-generation organ modelling, derived from the Nord C2D and built on B3 tonewheel simulations. This results in a dynamic and authentic organ sound. In addition, the Stage series includes a Rotary Speaker Simulation, an essential element of the classic live organ sound. The drawbars are represented using LED indicators, providing a clear overview of the settings, which can be easily adjusted in real time during performance.

 

Like the Electro series, the Nord Stage 2EX 88 features a comprehensive effects module, including Chorus, Flanger, Auto Wah, Pedal Wah, Tremolo, Pan, Ring Modulation and Vibe. All effects can be synchronised with the Master Clock to ensure accurate timing.
