The Roland Jupiter-80 synthesizer is Roland’s flagship model in the synthesizer range, derived from the highly popular Jupiter-8. The instrument retains the same black casing with colourful buttons. The Jupiter-80 features a 76-key synthesizer keyboard with aftertouch, which the Jupiter-50 does not have. The Jupiter is organised into three sections: the tones, the Live Set, and the registrations.

Sounds of the Roland Jupiter-80
The Roland Jupiter-80 synthesizer offers an extensive range of outstanding sounds, generated by the SuperNATURAL sound engine. In the Jupiter series, this engine consists of two generators: a SuperNATURAL Acoustic generator and a SuperNATURAL Synthesizer generator. These two generators produce sounds that include rich vintage synth tones as well as beautiful acoustic sounds. In total, there are 117 acoustic sounds and 1,500 synthesizer sounds. All these sounds can be modified, and with multiple layers, it’s possible to create sounds you’ve never heard before.

The Live Set
The Live Set section offers 2,560 memory slots, of which 2,300 are pre-programmed across various categories. Each memory slot can hold up to four tones. Once the desired tones are assigned, a wide range of effects can be applied. The effects section includes four processors, each offering 76 effects. This allows for subtle tonal adjustments as well as extreme transformations. An important feature is the Tone Blender, which lets you control multiple parameters simultaneously, allowing quick switching between sounds. If you create a combination that sounds great while blending, it can be immediately saved to another memory slot.

Registrations section
The Jupiter-80 has a registrations section with 256 memory slots. Thanks to the brightly coloured buttons, you can quickly switch between slots. Each registration consists of four parts: perc, lower, upper, and solo.

Built for the stage
The synthesizer is designed for live performance. It is solidly built with metal side panels, giving it the authentic Jupiter look. Functions load quickly, which is crucial for live use. The Jupiter-80 also features balanced XLR outputs, allowing a strong signal to be sent to a sound system.
