The Roland WM-1D Wireless MIDI Dongle is part of the WM series and stands out for its exceptionally low latency and stable wireless connection. In Standard Mode, the WM-1D communicates via Bluetooth MIDI with iOS devices and Mac computers, while in combination with other WM units it also offers a dedicated Fast Mode. In this mode, transmission speeds of approximately 3 ms can be achieved, which is faster than the internal processing of many hardware instruments. This results in a direct and natural playing experience, comparable to a traditional MIDI cable.

 

The WM-1D connects easily to a free USB port on your computer and is ready for use straight away. It supports not only MIDI note data, but also MIDI sync for tempo, effects, LFOs and loops. This makes the dongle particularly suitable for producers, live musicians and performers working with multiple devices and applications simultaneously. Compared to standard Bluetooth solutions, the WM-1D delivers greater stability and noticeably tighter timing, which is especially beneficial for rhythmic playing and live performance situations.
