Yamaha CVP-905B – Used, in excellent technical condition. Comes with a twelve-month warranty.
The Yamaha CVP-905B
The Yamaha CVP-905B is part of the CVP series, a range of digital pianos with many features, known as some of the most versatile instruments of all time. This CVP-905B is the smaller sibling of the flagship model in the series and makes the CVP accessible to a wider audience. In addition to this matte black version, the model is also available in high-gloss black. With a CVP, you open the door to the exciting and inspiring world of composition, musical discovery, and playing enjoyment. This beautifully designed instrument features an extensive list of high-quality sounds and rhythms for endless musical creations.
Sounds, styles, and voices in the CVP-905
With the CVP-905, you bring not one but two world-famous grand pianos into your home. The renowned Yamaha CFX Grand Piano and the legendary Bösendorfer Imperial have been meticulously sampled note by note and are reproduced in lifelike quality in the CVP. You can enjoy outstanding sound and nuanced tonal variations. Acoustic characteristics such as the room the grand piano is placed in, as well as technical features like resonance and lid position, can all be adjusted in the innovative Piano Room.
In addition, there are numerous other pianos and instruments included, all sounding incredibly realistic thanks to the highly acclaimed “Super Articulation” technology. Among the 1,315 voices, you will find everything from classical guitar to saxophone, and from organ to cello—it's all available in the CVP.
All these beautiful voices can be accompanied by 525 different styles. Select a style and your piano transforms into a complete ensemble! There is a wide variety of categories, including pop, rock, country, jazz, soul, and Latin. Enjoy playing along with a backing band or create arrangements in different genres. Additionally, there are 413 popular songs and classical pieces known worldwide, which even display the score while you play. Guide lamps above the keys show you which notes to play, making these instruments ideal for practice.
The GrandTouch keyboard
The CVP-905 features Yamaha’s latest GrandTouch keyboard. The touch and response are based on a grand piano, allowing for nuanced control down to the finest detail. This is partly due to the replicated grand piano hammers, which recreate the sensation of hammers striking the strings. The moisture-absorbing white keys have a synthetic ivory surface for maximum grip, while the synthetic ebony black keys prevent slipping. The core of the keys is made from carefully selected and dried solid wood, providing an authentic grand piano feel.
Each individual key of the CVP-905 has a different weight, just like on acoustic instruments. This is because the strings of each note differ in thickness and length, requiring varying key weights. This new Yamaha keyboard faithfully replicates this, including the key return behavior of an acoustic mechanism. Compared to its bigger sibling, the CVP-909, the latter also includes counterweights in each key to provide even more precise control during subtle, low-volume playing—this is not present in the CVP-905.
Sound quality of the CVP
The sound quality, both through the speakers and headphones, is breathtaking. The CVP features a 2-way speaker system equipped with specially designed speakers for a balanced sound. All speakers are optimally positioned to simulate the sound field of a grand piano as accurately as possible. The piano voices, other instruments, and full ensemble options all sound lifelike and highly impressive.
Through headphones, you will also experience a unique sound. Both the CFX grand piano and the Bösendorfer feature binaural sampling technology. Thanks to recordings made with multiple microphones, the sound through headphones does not feel like simple left-right stereo, but as if it is truly coming from a real grand piano.
