The Yamaha Genos is a versatile instrument. The product developers aimed to bring a product to the market that would exceed expectations and pleasantly surprise users. This led Yamaha, after five highly successful models, to bid farewell to the renowned Tyros keyboards.
MAIN DEVELOPMENTS OF THE YAMAHA GENOS
The Yamaha Genos is an innovative and impressive keyboard. As a keyboard enthusiast, you will naturally be curious about the key changes and developments regarding the Genos. These are outlined point by point below:
- The Yamaha Genos is available only in a 76-key version.
- The Genos features an entirely new operating system.
- The keyboard is equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen control panel.
- 6 assignable buttons and sliders.
- New sounds and styles.
- New and impressive Revo! drums.
- 3 USB ports, one of which is secured.
- The 2.1 speaker system has more user-friendly cabling.
- The stand is now black, matching the Genos design.
USER-FRIENDLINESS OF THE YAMAHA GENOS
A completely new operating system, paired with a 23-centimeter touchscreen display, gives the user-friendliness of this new keyboard a significant boost. Fifty percent of the physical buttons could be removed thanks to this touchscreen, making the Genos appear much more organized at first glance.
Also new are the assignable buttons and faders on the left side of the display. This “Live Control Mode” allows frequently used parameters to be preset and then adjusted directly by turning a knob or sliding a fader. Each knob can store three settings, and each fader can store two.
SOUNDS AND STYLES
The sound quality of every tone on the Genos is superior. At its core, the keyboard features beautifully stereo-sampled sounds of the highest quality. Naturally, the highly acclaimed piano sample of the powerful CFX concert grand is included, as well as the newly sampled C7 grand.
The specially developed AEM (Articulation Element Modeling) technology enhances the characteristic features of musical instruments. This technology combines the samples with the way and what you play. These elements are seamlessly merged to perfection, creating sounds that retain authentic acoustic characteristics. Stunning piano tones that will impress you come to life, along with beautiful strings, brass, and drums—all are present!
The Genos offers a wide variety of styles. These rhythmic backing patterns all feature different variations, allowing you to fully explore your musical creativity. You provide the idea, and the keyboard responds to you. Compared to the older Tyros, the organization of the styles has changed slightly—for example, the Ballads category has been removed, and those styles have been redistributed into other categories. New categories, such as Film Themes, have also been added. Through the following link, you can access a page showcasing an impression of the sounds and styles.
