The Yamaha MX61 is an attractively designed synthesiser finished in blue, featuring 61 keys. Yamaha’s MX series is widely praised for its excellent price-to-quality ratio. At a competitive price point, you gain access to a synth with extensive capabilities and high-quality sounds.
The Yamaha MX61 derives its sounds from the Motif XS series. More than 1,000 sounds from this high-quality synthesiser range have been incorporated into this model, including many realistic and dynamic acoustic instruments, as well as impressive drum sounds and complex synthesiser tones. The newly developed category layout also makes operation clear and intuitive. Finding and selecting sounds is straightforward, which is particularly useful for live performance. As expected from a synthesiser, these sounds can also be edited and stored. In Performance Mode, it is possible to create splits and layers. This function is designed to be very user-friendly, making it easy to combine multiple sounds. This synthesiser is equipped with a keyboard featuring 61 keys. Yamaha also offers a more compact version in the form of the MX49.
