The History of Yamaha
The Yamaha name is widely recognised in the world of musical instruments and far beyond. Today, the company also manufactures motorcycles, skis and audio equipment. However, its origins lie entirely in music, reflected in the three tuning forks that make up the Yamaha logo.
The Japanese company Yamaha was founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha. He began by building reed organs, and just over 13 years later, in 1900, he produced the company’s first pianos. The factory is located in Hamamatsu, and Yamaha has left its mark across the globe. With more than six million instruments produced, Yamaha pianos and grand pianos can be found worldwide. These instruments are known for their robust construction, clear and transparent sound, excellent playability and outstanding tuning stability.
If you are curious to experience these remarkable instruments for yourself, we maintain a continuously changing collection of Yamaha pianos, and you are warmly welcome to visit us.
