The POD Express
This little pedal is the ideal purchase for busy guitarists. This is because it’s a preamp, a stompbox, and an interface in one. It can be quite annoying to always carry your large and heavy amp to rehearsals and gigs, but with the POD Express that’ll become unnecessary. This compact device can be directly connected via the stereo outputs to a mixing panel or a PA system. Consequently, external amps or microphones are redundant. The device even works on simple batteries so an adapter is also unnecessary. If you prefer to use an adapter that is of course still possible. Furthermore, the POD Express can be used as a USB audio interface. You can connect the device directly to your DAW so you can record your sound easily and quickly. Your amp is even redundant at home, as you can connect headphones to the POD and jam with high-quality sound.
Sound and Effects
Although the device is small, its reach is enormous. The system contains seven different amp types, seven cabinets, and 17 effects. The POD Express is thus a pedalboard and a preamp in one. The POD Express contains four different distortions, four different types of boost, two different reverbs (ambience and hall), two different delays with a separate tap tempo button, and a modulation knob with chorus, flanger, phaser, and tremolo as the options. The largest knob in the middle contains the seven different amps. These amps were based on the award-winning HX series from Line 6. These are high-quality amps that produce phenomenal sounds, which you can all obtain with the POD Express. Moreover, the system has a built-in tuner and a noise gate. Do you want even more options? You can also connect a separate expression pedal or up to two footswitches for volume control, selecting presets, or selecting effects.
