Fretboards need to be maintained as they're made of porous wood which can bend or break. However, this is not the case with lacquered fretboards, as they have a layer of protection. Most fretboards aren't lacquered, though. Over time fretboards will dry out and get dirty because they are often in contact with the natural oils on your fingers. The Taylor Fretboard Conditioner cleans and conditions your fretboard in one go. It's recommended to only use it twice a year.
