Transacoustic
The third generation of Transacoustic pianos combines the worlds of acoustic and digital pianos more than ever before. A Transacoustic piano is essentially a regular piano that can, of course, be played completely acoustically. This allows you to fully enjoy the pure acoustic sounds of Yamaha's high-quality pianos. The piano is also equipped with numerous digital features, allowing it to be used in Silent mode and Hybrid mode.
Hybrid mode
In hybrid mode, a Transacoustic piano combines digital sounds with the acoustic elements of the piano. It is possible to mute the piano acoustically so that the hammers no longer strike the strings, as well as to use the piano acoustically to amplify the digital sounds. The digital system uses the improved basic sounds from the world-famous Yamaha CFX grand piano and the legendary Bosendorfer Imperial grand piano, which have been recorded note by note in very high quality. These recordings have been processed into the latest samples, which are brought to life by the Transacoustic system via specially designed transducers. When the acoustic sound is muted, this system becomes unique, because the digital sound is still amplified by acoustic elements such as the vibration of the soundboard and the string resonances. This makes it possible to play the piano at a lower volume while maintaining a lifelike sound character. It is also possible, for example, to play other sounds such as a Fender Rhodes with amplification of the acoustic elements, leading to some very cool combinations. Another great option is to play purely acoustic piano, where the piano is not muted and can be digitally supplemented with, for example, a string orchestra.
Silent mode
A Yamaha Transacoustic can also be played in silent mode. The acoustic part is blocked and the digital sound can be played through headphones. This is ideal if, for example, one family member wants to watch television and another wants to play the piano. With the headphones on, you are completely immersed in the piano thanks to binaural technology. This technology ensures that the experience is exactly the same as if you were sitting behind the piano and cannot be compared to the normal left-right reproduction of headphones. Play for hours and have fun behind the piano without disturbing anyone with a Transacoustic!
Playing feel
The playing feel of the Transacoustic is breathtaking in every mode. For the first time, all sensors are completely contactless, meaning that the digital technology has no negative impact whatsoever on the acoustic playing feel of the piano. Acoustic is therefore truly acoustic, without compromise. In silent mode, the feel of an acoustic mechanism remains, except that the hammer no longer physically touches the string. The technology is such that the hammer is stopped very subtly, so that you, as the player, do not notice this. The digital sound is generated by digital sensors, which are placed under the keys, near the hammers and near the pedals for the first time. This makes the registration of your playing even more accurate, allowing for even more expressive playing.
App
For the first time, the third generation Transacoustic can connect wirelessly to your smart device via Bluetooth MIDI connectivity. The comprehensive Smart Pianist app offers countless possibilities for selecting or editing different sounds. Various built-in functions such as songs, a learning method and even a rhythm section are available. In addition to Bluetooth MIDI, the piano also features Bluetooth audio, allowing you to play music wirelessly through the piano. Special transducers allow the Transacoustic piano to be used as a high-quality speaker for listening to music.
