With a new Yamaha U3 acoustic piano, you are purchasing an instrument that has been one of the best-selling pianos for generations. The U-series is even the longest-running production of acoustic pianos worldwide and that is of course not for nothing. With the clear transparent tone, a U3 can be recognized from thousands and this in combination with the very nice playability makes it an ideal piano for many used pianos. At conservatories and teaching practices there is a very good chance that you will find a Yamaha U-piano and you will also encounter it in many living rooms. Due to its size with a height of 131 cm, the U3 has a solid sound character, while the aforementioned clarity remains intact. It may also be good to know that in addition to this beautiful new U3, we also have a continuously changing range of used Yamaha U-pianos.

The Yamaha U3 piano will be delivered with the free Luxury Piano Package worth €325,- consisting of:
- Tuning before delivery and after delivery
- 10 year warranty
- Free delivery within the Benelux and very affordable shipping rates abroad.
More about the U3
While the cheaper models such as the B-series and P-series are currently produced in Indonesia, the Yamaha U3 is an all-Japanese piano. Over the years, Yamaha has made extensive revisions to the piano, making it better than ever before. For the U3, which also has a smaller brother with the Yamaha U1, only the best materials are used, such as solid Canadian spruce for the soundboard. All parts, including the mechanics, hammer heads and keyboard, are completely developed by Yamaha in-house. All these parts are of excellent quality and contribute to the very positive characteristics of this piano with a very high degree of tuning stability.
Transacoustic
The third generation of Transacoustic pianos combines the worlds of acoustic and digital pianos like never before. Fundamentally an acoustic piano, it can of course be played entirely acoustically, allowing you to fully enjoy the pure, rich sounds of Yamaha’s high-quality instruments. In addition, the piano is equipped with a range of digital features, allowing it to operate in Silent and Hybrid modes.
Hybrid Mode
In Hybrid mode, a Transacoustic piano combines digital sounds with the acoustic elements of the instrument. It allows you both to acoustically mute the piano so that the hammers no longer strike the strings, and to use the piano acoustically to enhance the digital sounds. The digital system uses enhanced foundational sounds derived from the world-famous Yamaha CFX concert grand and the legendary Bösendorfer Imperial grand, each key meticulously recorded at very high quality. These recordings have been processed into the latest samples, which are brought to life by the Transacoustic system through specially designed transducers.
When the acoustic sound is dampened, this system is truly unique because the digital sound is still enhanced by acoustic elements such as the vibration of the soundboard and string resonances. This allows you to play the piano at a lower volume while retaining a lifelike tonal character. For example, you can also play other sounds like a Fender Rhodes with the enhancement of the acoustic elements, resulting in really exciting combinations. Another great option is to play purely acoustically, where the piano is not dampened and can be digitally augmented with, for example, a string orchestra.
Silent Mode
With a Yamaha Transacoustic, you can also play in Silent mode. The acoustic part is muted, and the digital sound can be played through headphones. This is ideal, for example, when one family member wants to watch TV while another wants to play the piano. When wearing headphones, you are fully immersed in the piano thanks to binaural technology. This technology ensures the experience is exactly like sitting at the piano and is therefore incomparable to the usual left-right headphone sound. You can play for hours and enjoy yourself at the piano without disturbing anyone — that’s possible with a Transacoustic!
Touch and Feel
The touch and feel of the Transacoustic is breathtaking in every mode. For the first time, all sensors are completely contactless, so the digital technology has no negative impact on the acoustic playing experience of the piano. Acoustically, it remains truly acoustic without compromise. In Silent mode, the feel of the acoustic action remains, except that the hammer no longer physically strikes the string. The technology is designed so that stopping the hammer happens very subtly, making it unnoticeable to the player. The digital sound is generated by digital sensors, which for the first time are placed under the keys, near the hammers, and at the pedals. This allows for even more precise detection of your playing, enabling greater expressiveness.
App
For the first time, the third generation Transacoustic can wirelessly connect to your smart device via Bluetooth MIDI. The comprehensive Smart Pianist app offers many options for selecting and editing sounds. In addition to Bluetooth MIDI, the piano also supports Bluetooth audio, allowing you to stream music wirelessly through the piano. Thanks to its special transducers, the Transacoustic piano can be used as a high-quality speaker for listening to music.
