Nord Wave 2 Synthesiser

Swedish brand Nord has just announced the new Nord Wave 2 synthesiser. This new 48 polyphony synth promises lots of new features, great sounds and easy operation in a compact and lightweight body. Keyboard

Nord has gone big with this new piano keyboard. With 61 keys, it is versatile enough to play both the bass and lead parts simultaneously, but also small enough to be easy to carry around. The keys are waterfall type and therefore perfect for fast lead solos. In addition, it also comes with aftertouch that allows you to edit the sound even after you have struck the key. In short: A great keyboard for playing synthesiser sounds.

Of course, what Nord is best known for is its vast array of great sounds that are second to none, and with the new one, you can expect exactly that. Want to expand? This synthesiser works perfectly with the new Nord Sample Library 3.0 which promises years of updates and new samples. So you are not easily bored with the Nord Wave 2. Of course, you can customise the sounds entirely to your taste with the extensive Oscillator section. You can choose from analogue as well as FM, Wavetable and other Sample sounds. The rich, warm sounds created by the analogue oscillator will amaze you, and the new FM synth is a nice addition for even more great sounds. You also have a choice of different low pass, high pass filters and the famous transistor ladder filter from the legendary Mini. In addition, you have a versatile LFO and modulation section, and hundreds of setting options to make this instrument your taste. Effects and Connections

Nord has also put the necessary effects in the Wave 2. So you have a choice of 5 high-quality reverb effects, many types of modulation such as chorus and flanger and, of course, an extensive delay effect. You can also use the equaliser and an overdrive option. In terms of connections, the new Wave 2 is also well connected. Namely, it has a MIDI out and in jack, stereo line out, monitor in, 2 jacks for pedals and, of course, a headphone jack. In short: the Nord Wave 2 has everything and more for the concert and studio keyboardist.

Nord Triple Pedal

The Nord Triple Pedal is the pedal Nord developed to connect to the stage and piano series. The pedal offers unprecedented functionality and with it you add dynamic control of mechanical sounds.

The left pedal is the soft pedal, the Una Corda. When you press this pedal, all notes become slightly lower in volume and have a slightly more subdued tone. The middle pedal is the Sostenuto. By using this pedal, you can give selected notes more sustain. The other notes will continue to sound as if no pedal is being used.

The Nord Lead A1

The Nord Lead A1 is an amazing synthesizer from the popular brand Nord. The synthesizer has a classic layout with an easy-to-use interface. Consequently, you can easily and quickly produce unique sounds and come up with even more inspiration. Furthermore, the system has an analogue modelling engine that can produce ultra-realistic and dynamic sounds. The Lead A1 also has interesting split and layer options. For example, you can split the keyboard in two and play two synthesizers simultaneously, or you can layer different recordings over your playing. Do you want to control multiple parameters at the same time? No problem, you can use the Morph function with the Mod Wheel or a pedal. Hold the Morph button and adjust the desired knob.

Effects

The Lead A1 has moreover amazing effects, including the brand-new analogue Ensemble and Chorus. Of course, you still have access to the amazing Ring Modulation, Phaser, Flanger, Drive, Delay, and Reverb. The synthesizer also has a new oscillator with which you have access to 47 different waveforms, from classic analogue to digital harmonic waves. Furthermore, programming the oscillator has become easier and quicker. Do you want to edit the sound even more? Try a filter! The system contains frequency filters that give the sound a completely different character. Choose between Low Pass, High Pass, and Band Pass filters that flexibly and authentically alter the character of the sound. If you have achieved a perfect sound you can save it as a preset, making it easy to find in the future!

Connections

The Lead A1 has two pedal outputs, one for a sustain pedal and one for an expression pedal. Furthermore, you can connect headphones to the synthesizer with a 6.35mm jack plug for if you want to play in private. All four of the synthesizer machines have their own 6.35mm audio outputs. Moreover, the system has MIDI-in/out with 5-pin DIN connectors and a USB output that can also be used as a MIDI connection.

The Nord Drum 3P

The Nord Drum 3P is the ideal multipad for versatile musicians. The system has new and improved functions and effects. Furthermore, the system has a bigger memory and an easy-to-use user interface. Moreover, the system already has an enormous amount of built-in sounds and drum kits. With the Drum Select function you can easily access a wide variety of drum sounds and assign them to each individual drum pad and arrange them to your liking. Additionally, the sounds are dynamic and authentic which means the drums won’t sound static and robot-like. This means nobody has to know you used a drum pad instead of an acoustic set. You can also add textures to your sound with the Noise Section and add Drive, EQ, and Modulation individually to the six channels.

The system has a MIDI-in/out with a 5-pin DIN connector. Moreover, the system has two audio outputs for a stereo effect (6.35mm), a headphone output (3.5mm), a standard audio input (6.35mm), and an adapter input (adapter included).

The Nord Organ 3 finally introduces a real combo organ from Nord, as well as some internal updates.
