Jeff Tweedy
This 000 Jr E is a special edition in honour of Jeff Tweedy. Jeff Tweedy is the vocalist and guitarist for the American band Wilco. His acoustic guitar is a vital part for both Wilco and his songwriting process. Since he’s known for his typical loose chords, subtle arpeggios, and characteristic timing, his signature guitar has to have a beautiful and wide sound projection so these aspects can be emphasised.
The 000 Jr E
The 000 Jr E Jeff Tweedy is Martin’s Junior version of their famous Orchestra. The guitar has a solid sapele top, back, and sides. That’s a high-quality material that’s very resonant and produces a beautifully bright sound. The neck and the fretboard are made of ‘select hardwood’, which means that they’re either made of cedar or mahogany, depending on which of the two Martin can obtain at the time of production without having to participate in deforestation. Both tonewoods are great choices for a guitar neck, and difference between the two is minimal.
Martin
Martin is a reputable American company which has been making guitars for almost 200 years. Throughout the years they have become one of the best when it comes to western guitars. This is because quality is their biggest priority. Consequently, Martin guitars are very popular. There are even many famous guitarists who use Martin guitars, like Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan, and David Gilmour. Furthermore, their production process is environmentally friendly. Since the ‘90s they have worked together with the FSC to prevent deforestation. They only use wood from trees that have to be cut down to keep the forest healthy. The other parts of the guitar are recycled, as well. By purchasing a Martin guitar you are thus not only investing in quality, but also the environment.
