Whereas the cheaper models such as the B series and the P series are now produced in Indonesia, the Yamaha U1 is still a truly Japanese piano. Over the years, Yamaha has made extensive revisions to the piano, making it better than ever before. The U1, which also has a bigger brother in the Yamaha U3, is made using only the best materials, such as solid Canadian spruce for the soundboard. All components, including the action, hammer heads and keyboard, are developed entirely in-house by Yamaha. All these components are of outstanding quality and contribute to the highly positive characteristics of this piano, which also has excellent tuning stability.

The Yamaha SH3 silent system

The Yamaha SH3 Silent System is the latest generation of electronics that Yamaha uses in its acoustic pianos. Like its predecessor, the system features two world-renowned concert grand pianos, the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. Yamaha's flagship model, the CFX, stands out thanks to its wide range of tones, from a crisp treble to a rich bass. The Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano is world-renowned for its sonorous, rich “Viennese sound”. In addition to the acoustic piano sounds, the system features 10 other tones, including digital pianos, harpsichords, organs, string orchestra, choir and synth pad. The sensor system has undergone a major upgrade, making the registration of the key touch even more accurate.

A great addition is that the SH3 system now features Bluetooth. This allows you to play music wirelessly through the system via your smartphone or tablet. Another great feature is the wireless connection to the Smart Pianist App, which allows you to control the piano in innovative ways. Sound settings can be easily selected and edited, and features such as recording and a learning method are also available.
