Yamaha has announced major updates for three synthesizer series: the MODX M, SEQTRAK, and CK.
Update for MODX M
This is version 3.0 of the MODX M OS. It is a major and free update that brings the MODX M onto the same operating system as Yamaha’s flagship MONTAGE M. This ensures full compatibility and a consistent creative experience.
The update applies to the MODX-M8, MODX-M7, and MODX-M6.
Key features included in this update:
- Full compatibility with MONTAGE M performances and content
- ESP support for MODX M, enabling seamless hardware-software integration in DAWs
- New VCM-based effects, a newly sampled Clavi waveform, and 60 new performances
- Expanded Quick Edit controls and deeper modulation routing
- Improved Live Set management and enhanced DAW integration via the new ESP Control panel
SEQTRAK Update
SEQTRAK OS v2.0 is a major update that increases creative flexibility and streamlines your workflows. It introduces new track types, improved controls, and an updated companion app, making SEQTRAK even better suited to your musical needs.
What’s new:
- Convert unused drum tracks into AWM2 synth tracks for a fully customised setup
- Combine multiple drum tracks into a single drum kit track and manage your beats more easily
- Apply BARLENGTH control to drum, synth, and sampler tracks
- Use the improved [ALL] button for faster global parameter edits
- Back up your sounds at any time with the SEQTRAK App v2.0
Both the update and the app are now available.
Update for CK
One of the biggest highlights of CK OS v1.10 is the expanded real-time control for both live performances and studio sessions. This update introduces new performance-enhancing features designed to improve expressiveness, sound customisation, and hands-on control. Our range includes the CK61 and CK88.
Highlights include:
- New Part SW Mode options for more expressive layered and split performances
- Independent pan control for precise placement of each Part
- Expanded Rotary Speaker parameters for an even more realistic organ sound
- New Audio Trigger Hold mode for intuitive control of triggered audio
- Faster access to Master Tune for quick adjustments during rehearsals or live sets

You can choose from over 2,000 AWM2 engine synthesiser sounds, dozens of drum modules and hundreds of effects. It also includes enough internal memory to add nearly 400 extra samples. As a synthesiser it offers plenty of power, but it’s equally capable as a sampler. Thanks to the built-in microphone, creating your own samples is very easy. In addition, it features an AUX-in for recording audio directly from an external sound source.
Connectivity
The Yamaha SEQTRAK is fully up-to-date in terms of modern connectivity. It includes USB-C for updates and file transfers, and it also comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi as standard. This allows you to connect it effortlessly to your phone, tablet or computer and take advantage of the innovative SEQTRAK app. The SEQTRAK app lets you browse sounds and samples more quickly and clearly, as well as save your sequences. Alongside these modern features, the SEQTRAK also offers more traditional connections such as AUX-in, MIDI-in and MIDI-out, and of course a headphone output.
