In May, the new Line 6 Catalyst amps will be launched!
Line 6 is the well-known subsidiary of Yamaha. Yamaha is a huge Japanese company that makes high-quality instruments and audio products. This is also the case for Line 6 amplifiers. They focus on modelling technology and are very good at it.
The Catalyst CX series contains three high-quality amplifiers that all have two channels. The amps look like traditional amps but have all the benefits of a modern amp, including twelve modelling options produced by Line 6's popular Helix Amp and Effects Processor. This allows you to choose from a huge range of sound options, from beautiful and crisp clean to harsh ripping distortion. Moreover, each of the twelve options has its own boost type, making it a perfect match for the sound. Besides the twelve modelling options, the amps also feature 24 different effects of the same quality as the Helix modelling options. By the way, the amps are very versatile as they also have an XLR connection (for a microphone), a MIDI connection, a USB interface and a Power Amp connection allowing you to use the amps as speakers. Furthermore, the amps also have a built-in tuner, an effects loop connection and an output for a PA system.
The series consists of three amplifiers: the Catalyst CX 60, the Catalyst CX 100 and the Catalyst CX 200. The main difference between the amplifiers is in size and wattage. The number in the name represents the wattage, and the larger the wattage the larger the amplifier. So they are suitable for different purposes. In addition, the CX 200 has two speakers and the other amplifiers only one.
