As such, you can choose between many sound options, from a beautiful bright clean sound to a hard and dirty distortion. Furthermore, each of the twelve modelling options has its own boost type, so every individual sound can be perfectly boosted. The amps are incredibly versatile as well, because they have an XLR input (for a microphone), a MIDI output, a built-in USB interface, and a Power Amp input so you can use the amps as speakers. Roland Blues Cube Hot VB

The Blues Cube Hot is a versatile and compact modelling amplifier from Roland. It’s a 30 watt amp and it has a 12 inch speaker. All of Roland’s Blues Cubes are designed with their ‘Tube Logic’-technology. This means that the transistor amp have a the same warm and authentic sound as their original Blues Cube valve amp. It’s quite hard to replicate the valve amp sound, but Roland realised that simplicity was the answer. The amp has a Clean and a Crunch channel, with which all the nuances can be implemented.

But why would a transistor amplifier be preferable? Although valve amps sound beautiful, they often tend to be quite heavy, big, and require a lot of maintenance. On the other hand, transistor amps are more compact and lightweight, require minimal maintenance, and can be used with headphones. Furthermore, a footswitch can be connected to the amp. The amp also has a USB-input, which means the amp can be directly connected to a PC. Lastly, Roland made sure the amp also looks vintage, so the Blues Cube Hot allows for the full vintage experience!

The Katana series stands next to the Waza Craft series, which means that the most innovative technology has been used. The amps contain several effects, which means these amps are ideal for the musician who likes to play different styles. The third generation has an improved response and expression. Furthermore, the third generation produces a better faux-tube amp sound with the innovative technology that Boss has developed since the MkII series. Additionally, the user interface has become more intuitive and the built-in effects are smoother. The third generation is thus literally Next Level. The Katana amps are available in several different sizes and for different prices.

The Katana Head Gen 3

The Katana Head Gen 3 is an amazing and compact head from Boss. The head is 100 watts and thus produces a powerful sound. Combined with a great cabinet the head will be invincible. Due to its small size, it’s ideal for rehearsals, where you can connect it to a smaller cabinet if necessary, but also for gigs. Furthermore, you’ll have access to many different sounds, including three cabinet resonance options: Vintage, Modern, and Deep. Additionally, the head has six amp characters and four memory slots where you can save your favourite combinations. Do you want a beautifully overdriven sound with a low volume? That’s no problem, as Boss perfected a cranked-amp tone at low volumes. Additionally, you can download the Boss Tone Studio app so you can alter the settings via your smartphone or laptop.
